Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the severely atrophic posterior maxilla
The rehabilitation of the severely anthropic posterior maxilla poses many challenges to the treating clinician due to its anatomical features. Over the years different surgical techniques have been introduced that are less invasive and more prosthetically driven to help overcome these challenges. An overview of these techniques will be given focusing on sinus lift with immediate implant placement without the use of bone substitutes.
